 Hydra-Sports Boats was founded in 1973 in Nashville, Tennessee. Hydra-Sports became a major player in the bass boat market in the 70s when it employed both Earl Bentz (founder of Stratos Boats, and Triton Boats) and Roark Summerford (legendary boat designer, retired from Triton Boats) in their R&D Department. They continued to build bass boats into the 90s, but have since committed entirely to saltwater vessels. Genmar purchased Hydra-Sports in 2001, and still own them today.
