 Ranger Boats originated in 1968, built by Wood Mfg. Co, Inc in Flippin Arkansas. Ranger Boats was founded by Forrest Wood and his wife Nina, and quickly grew through Forrest's promotion through fishing tournaments. Ranger Boats was the official boat of the BASS Masters Classic in 1972.
Ranger Boats was eventually acquired by Irwin Jacobs and Genmar Holdings in 1991, who operate the company to this day. Forrest Wood still serves as a spokesperson for competitve bass fishing through FLW Outdoors and Ranger Boats.
