 Tracker Boats began in 1978, founded by Bass Pro Shops owner John Morris (now known as Johnny Morris). The boats were, and some still are, manufactured in Springfield Missouri, the home of Bass Pro Shop's first and most notable retail store. Tracker offered three boat models, Bass Tracker I, II, and III. Morris was the first to nationally advertise prices through his catalog, and Tracker still practices this ideal to this day. Tracker Marine grew to become it's own "family" of boats, including now ProCraft, Nitro, and Fisher. The Tracker Boats brand continues to be known for their Bass Tracker model.
